LR is so full of bugs. Makes me wonder what all your thousands of programmers are doing all day. It's beyond frustrating to pay so much money and receive such a product so full of issues.

Mine is doing the same. It’s driving me insane. Did you ever find a solution? I only noticed it about a week ago.

Sorry to hear. No I did not. I have a few thousand pictures I need to finish editing and then I’ll try to reset like he recommended below. I’m afraid if I do it now I’ll lose the pictures I have. Hopefully I won’t punch my computer out of frustration in the meantime.

@menachemm51113206  @mishmashpv, thanks for the additional updates.

One important clarification: if your photos are fully local/offline and not synced to the cloud yet, I strongly recommend NOT resetting preferences immediately until you first confirm that your local originals are safely backed up outside Lightroom. Make sure the originals are safely stored on disk and, if possible, backed up separately.

Could both of you please test one thing: try navigating between images using only the mouse, and unplug the keyboard if you are on a PC, Mac Mini/Studio, or iMac. If you are on a laptop or MacBook, ensure you are not using the keyboard arrows and that no external devices are connected. And check whether the auto-pasting still occurs.

Also, does the issue occur immediately after editing a single image, or only after using Copy Settings / Presets earlier in the session?

Please also share your Lightroom System Info: Help > System Info > copy & paste here. A short screen recording showing:

    • Editing image A
    • Moving to image B
    • Settings auto-applying unexpectedly

Now that there are a couple of reports with similar behavior, we’d like to consolidate the details before escalating further internally.

    Best,

Nothing is synced. Everything is offline on my computer. Can I still reset?

If I do a reset will that effect the images that i have currently in Lightroom ? Will anything get deleted?

@menachemm51113206, since you’re using the Lightroom cloud version, resetting preferences should not delete your cloud photos or edits as long as everything is synced properly.

    Before resetting, just double-check:

    • Go to: https://lightroom.adobe.com/
    • Confirm your photos and edits are visible and fully synced there

If everything appears correctly on the web, then your cloud library is safely stored in Adobe Cloud, and you should be fine to reset preferences.

Thank you. I am using cloud version.
    auto advance is off.
I don’t have the setting option in cloud version.

@menachemm51113206, thanks for clarifying that you're on Lightroom (cloud version), not Lightroom Classic.

A few questions and troubleshooting steps to help narrow this down:

    1. Check if you have a preset applied on import in Lightroom Cloud. If you have a default preset set via Preferences > Import > Raw Defaults, newly imported photos will inherit those settings, which can look like "pasting from previous."

    2. Try resetting preferences.

    • Quit Lightroom
    • Hold Shift + Alt/Option while relaunching
    • Select "Reset Preferences" when prompted

If the issue persists after these steps, we'd like to gather more details to investigate further:

    • Please share your System Info. Lightroom > Help > System Info. Copy & paste it here
    • Can you record a short screen recording showing the behavior? Editing image A, then moving on to image B, and the settings are getting pasted automatically.
    • Does it happen with all photos or only specific ones? Are multiple photos selected in Lightroom Cloud's grid view?

When I go from one image to the next, it pastes all my settings from previous image, without me pressing paste. It also includes healing settings and cropping, which I clearly selected NOT to paste. This is causing a lot of wasted time and effort. Please help.

    Hi @menachemm51113206,

Thanks for clarifying the actual issue. That definitely does not sound expected, especially if settings, healing, and crop are being pasted automatically when moving between images.

A couple of things to check first:

    • Please confirm which Lightroom app you’re using:

    • Lightroom Classic
    • Lightroom Desktop (cloud version)

    • Check whether Auto Sync is enabled accidentally. LrC > Settings > Enable Auto Sync. Is it checked or unchecked?

    Also check:

    • Settings > Copy Settings  & Sync Settings
    • Please test the following one by one:
      • First, uncheck everything under “Copy Settings” and see whether the behavior stops. This will help rule out a stuck keyboard shortcut or possible third-party interference.
      • If that makes no difference, click “Check None” under Sync Settings as well. Then test again.

If the issue persists after that, please share a short screen recording of your full workflow that shows the issue. Also, share your System Info: Lightroom > Help menu > System Info. Copy & paste it here.

That will help us investigate further and determine whether this is a workflow setting issue or something we need to escalate internally.

    Best,
    Anshul Saini

Sure it’s not your computer? What’s your question?
