People View discontinued by Adobe

Hi all,

After deciding to go all-in on Lightroom CC last month and importing 70,000 images, I called Adobe support this evening to inquire about no "People View" results being returned after a month of waiting. The ID feature had previously worked very well in this same library and had been a factor in my decision to try and go "all-in."

The support representative informed me that as of the latest August updates to LrCC, Adobe is or has discontinued the People View feature. The representative could not provide any documents to support this claim, and I haven't been able to find any references to this across the web.

Does anyone know what's going on? If a knowledgeable Adobe employee is listening, I do have a case/reference number I could provide.

Frustrated...

People View is disabled by default. Is People View enabled in your Preferences?

Yes, it is, and has been, on all client devices since well over a year ago. I only noticed that it was not updating/running on new imports after I began importing ("adding?") most of my lifetime collection of photos – over a month ago now.

The Adobe representative stated clearly that this feature has been removed as of the latest updates.

I can't check it right now because I am typing this on my iPad (it's still in the iPad version, that I can assure you), but I doubt very much that this has been discontinued. Unfortunately, some Adobe support staff is notorious for making things up and saying things like "this option was removed" when they don't know how to help.
