Photos disappearing when I put a star rating on them

Question

I am in LrC on my Mac.  When I put a star rating on a photo, it disappears.  This just started happening tonight - No other updates/changes and I am at the current MacOS (Big Sur 11.0.1) and LrC (10.1 release).  I don't know where the photos are going.  Fortunately, I don't see them in my trash.  Does anyone have a solution on where to find them, and how to stop them from disappearing?  Thank you.

This would seem to indicate that you have set a filter of some sort, and when you apply the star rating the image no longer meets the criterion of the filter and is therefore eliminated from being displayed. Go to the library module and check to see if you have any filters being applied.
