Photos I upload are going into the Sync Issues folder

Hi, I’m having a Lightroom sync problem and I’m hoping someone can help.

When I upload photos, they are going into the Sync Issues folder instead of syncing normally. Lightroom seems to be trying to sync, but those photos are getting stuck and not uploading correctly.

From the diagnostics, it looks like Lightroom is having trouble recognizing some of the photo records during sync. I’m seeing repeated errors saying that the asset or revision “does not exist,” along with other sync validation errors. So in plain English, it seems like Lightroom thinks it is supposed to upload certain photos or edits, but the cloud/server is not recognizing them properly.

    Hey, @. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. 

     

    Please share more details, including the exact Lightroom version, mobile mode, OS details, screenshots, and video recordings of what you see. Also, make some obvious/extreme edits (+/- 100) and verify this further.


    Before you go ahead, please make sure your images are backed up outside Lightroom. Sign in to Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/46uNTUr) and check how the image appears on the Web. In the past, emptying the Deleted and Sync issue album helped with the Sync pipeline.

    The lightroom version is 9.3.1, 

    My computer is: macOS Sonoma Version 14.6 (23G80), Apple M3, 16GB, Serial Number: GN92XR320

     

    On Lightroom web I can see the images they are stuck in the sync issues folder, I have deleted from the delete folder and tried again and jt has not worked. I also tried creating a a new user on Mac and it also did not help.

     

    What happens:

     

    * New photos import, but many get stuck in “Syncing” or appear in the Sync Error area.

    * Sometimes the sync count slowly goes down over time.

    * At least once, the count eventually dropped all the way to zero.

    * The issue is recurring, and Lightroom no longer uploads as smoothly as it used to.

     

    What I’ve already tried:

     

    * Checked Lightroom Web and cleared the Sync Error folder.

    * Checked the Sync Status filter in Lightroom desktop.

    * Selected photos under Sync Status > Syncing and applied a flag/star “nudge.”

    * That did help, and the stuck count started going down, but it does not explain why the problem keeps happening in the first place.

    * Confirmed this is happening on future shoots too, not just the original affected batch.

    * Confirmed it is not limited to the original SD card, since it also happened with a different SD card.

    ˝Thanks for the detailed update and the video. I’d like to clarify a few things.

    1. At the time of import, all images to Lightroom Web are Sync issues, as they are expected to be synced, but have not yet fully reached web. If you import just 1 image and pause sync half way, that image would become Sync Issue for Lightroom Web until resumed, and completed. 
    2. Upload speeds are commonly slower than the declared download speeds from the ISP, and the batch I saw in the video is about 10Gbs, so it can take a few extra minutes to complete uploading.
    3. When you import a batch of images, you can let Lightroom sync in the background, or pause sync, complete what you would do with the images & resume sync when you’re done, and let Lightroom sync for a while.
