Photos not importing from Iphone to LR desktop

I am trying to import photos from the updated iphone 16 to my updates Mac using updated LR desktop. I am using a USB connection and the import function in LR. LR can see the device, it can populate a small number of thumnails of the of the photos sitting on my phone, but the rest (majority) are not populating. When I click on a blank thumnail (file name is listed but no pic) it says no photo selected. How do I get LR to import these photos. Thanks.

@default9tjbkiwcjaai

just wondering if you've tried to use Lightroom Mobile and sync from there as this is probably the standard workflow.

Or would you rather just import directly from the iPhone?

Thanks - I would rather import directly from the phone

Hey, @default9tjbkiwcjaai. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.

What version of Lightroom & macOS are you working on? What troubleshooting steps have you tried already?

Does this happen with a specific set of images?

You could also import your full-size RAW images in Lightroom mobile & it'll sync over to Lightroom desktop.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Thank you for your response @mystic_soldier7700.

I am using Sequoia 15.5 and Lightroom 14.3 Camera Raw 17.3.

I have tried attaching my phone via usb and using Import in Lightroom. No luck. I have also tried using Image Capture - no luck.

I haven’t tried LR mobile - but am less inclined to do this.

Thanks
