Pictures don't show on screen

Question

When I go to my uploaded photos there are only dates and black squares. I cannot view the photo until I click on it to edit. I cannot see what photo I'm clicking on. Only a black square. I have tried rebooting and closing the app and reopening.

Which version of Lightroom and operating system are you using? Is this happening with a particular file format? Where are the images located? Also, which Graphics card did you install on the machine? Is it up-to-date?
