Pixel 4a RAW colour

The colour of the files are horrible now.

When looking at the gallery view all looks good but when editing the file it takes a moment to load and then colours are way off.

It picks Google Pixel profile.

Tried changing to Adobe profiles but still no luck.

This is with the latest Android version.

Anyone else having that issue?

Btw that's when I compare to jpg.

I'm aware that these colours might not be perfect but RAW colours are way off.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography @Baenggu @grole Have any of you ever solved or found the cause to this issue? I've been experiencing it and have notice LR shows the "as shot" white balance awfully far to the blue and greens. Is Google photos doing something weird or Lightroom unable to read some weird raw config the pixel camera is doing?

Here's what I do know:

  • The RAW files taken by Pixel 4a's default camera app
  • While stored via Google Photos, they look fine in that app.
  • but if I open them in LR mobile, A yellow green cast occurs.
  • When I go back to Lightroom mobile's Gallery view, it doesn't show the strange cast.

For reference since I cannot edit the prior post, here's a screenshot of the "as shot" white balance. If it truly is as shot then the default balance is garbage since it's the same across-the-boad. It's a shame it's not at least auto balancing that by default to save the extra work to find the balance in LR.

I agree with you. The raw files have a horrible yellow cast to them. I switched "back" to the "Google embedded camera profile", which requires an exposure boost, but at least the colours are ok.

Greetings,

Are you able to supply to us a sample file from your device that exhibits the issue?

Thank you Rikk for looking into it.

I'll attach pictures of what it looks like in gallery view, while the RAW file loads and once loaded. Plus the original RAW file and original jpg.

Your original Raw file did not attach. You may need to share it via Creative Cloud Files, Dropbox or similar and then share a link.

Thanks.
