Please restore the three-dot “Set as Default Profile” control
**Subject:** Feature Request: Restore “Set as Default Profile” (⋯) in Lightroom
Hello Adobe Lightroom Team,
I’m writing to request the return of the **“Set as Default Profile” (three-dot) option** in Lightroom (cloud-based).
In recent versions, the ability to set a global default profile (for example, **Adobe Portrait**) appears to have been removed. This change significantly impacts professional and high-volume workflows where consistency on import matters.
**Why this matters:**
* Many photographers rely on a non-Adobe Color profile as their baseline look.
* Requiring an import preset adds friction and is not equivalent to a true default.
* Lightroom Classic still supports default profiles, creating an unnecessary gap between the two products.
* Profiles are foundational color science choices, not creative presets.
**Request:**
Please restore the **three-dot “Set as Default Profile” control** (or an equivalent preference) that allows users to:
* Choose a global default profile
* Optionally set defaults per camera
* Apply defaults automatically on import without manual presets
This functionality previously existed and its removal has reduced efficiency without providing a replacement.
Thank you for considering this request. Lightroom is central to many professional workflows, and restoring this feature would meaningfully improve usability and parity across Lightroom products.
