Portfolio Albums empty

I have synced collections in Lightroom classic so I can use them as albums in Portfolio. When I click on the link in Portfolio to add the images from Lightroom it shows Recent Albums. The albums show as blank grey boxes with the album name below them. When I click on the album it is empty and shows “No photo”. However, the images that should be in the albums are displayed below the album section in recent photos.

This means I can only import the images by selecting them individually rather than by each album. How can I fix this issue?
