Question

Preset amount resets to 100

Since updating to LR 9.6 (Windows 11 10.0.22631) presets that have been applied with a reduced amount (e.g. 50 instead of 100) will reset to 100 when moving to the next photo or applying further settings to the same photo.

Previously, when I applied a preset I could reduce the amount with the slider or by entering the amount. The amount was saved and the preset has been applied with the respective intensity. This could be easily used to adjust the mood of different photos to the same level.

Now, when reducing the amount from 100 to e.g. 50 the adjustment only remains temporarily but resets to 100 when other settings are applied or I simply move to the next photo. Even the thumbnail in the list changes instantly back to a intensity amount of 100 of the applied preset.

Hi @Srishti Bali,

Thank you. I’ve sent you a message with screenshots.

Press and hold the Shift + Alt keys while launching Lightroom.

Did not show me a prompt nor changed the behaviour.

Hi @annika_9352

Apologies for this experience. I tried replicating the issue on my Windows machine, but everything worked as expected on my end. Could you please share a few screenshots or a short screen recording demonstrating the issue and the exact workflow you’re following? It would also be helpful if you could share your System Info, available under Help > System Info. Please copy and paste the full report here.

In the meantime, please try resetting Lightroom preferences to see if that resolves the issue:

  1. Quit Lightroom.

  2. Press and hold the Shift + Alt keys while launching Lightroom.

  3. When prompted, select Reset Preferences.

  4. Once Lightroom launches, try the same workflow again and check if the issue persists.

Please let us know whether resetting the preferences helps. If the issue persists, screenshots or a screen recording and System Info will help us investigate further.

Thanks, Srishti Bali | Community & Engagement Strategist, Digital Imaging | Adobe
