Question

Presets

When I first started using Lightroom I imported my presets and they appeared under the tab "Yours" and it then synced with my Lightroom Mobile and everything was working well.

Now, everytime that I open Lightroom on my PC, only 6 of my presets show under the tab "Yours" and when I try to add the original ones, it only adds those same 6 and creates copy of them. I checked under the "Hide partially compatible presets" but it makes no difference. When I go to Lightroom mobile all the presets are there just as I wanted them to be on my Desktop app. I also tried uploading them thru Lightroom Classic but I receive a message saying they were successfully added but then it doesn't show them and says I have no presets.

Welcome to the Lightroom community. I'll help you figure this out.

What version of Lightroom & the operating system are you working on?

Lightroom desktop does not share its presets database with Lightroom Classic & Camera Raw like that. You have confirmed that the presets are available on Lightroom mobile. Before we go further, please log on to Lightroom Web (https://lightroom.adobe.com) & ensure all the images, edits & presets are synced to the cloud & nothing is waiting to be synced.

Only when you're sure everything is backed up & synced to Lightroom Cloud, try these steps:

  • Go to the following location

    • C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom CC
    • Press the Windows > Enter 'Run' > Type %localappdata%\Adobe\Lightroom CC

    • You'll find a folder inside it with a long cryptic string of numbers and letters (for example, d1a4f88d2b534c7d91022136fd182532). Open that folder.
    • In the folder, move out the CrSettings, XMP & any files with 'ManagedCatalog' in their names.

    • Launch Lightroom.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
