Previously added photos

Hi,

I tried to import some photos from a drive but the process "hung" and no photos were imported. I tried it again but Lightroom 4.2 shows me the files to be imported dimmed adn saying "previously added" and will not let me import them. I tried deleting the carpet where I wanted to import them but nothing.

What am I doing wrong?
