Problem: Synced previews are streched on cloud and mobile app

So the problem is, I want to share a photo shoot with a client. When I share the gallery on the web, the photos are stretched. I have to 'push' a change to the web or mobile development module in order to update the photo in the guest gallery view.

  • Lightroom Version Number:
    • Classic 11.4
    • Lightroom 5.4
    • Lightroom for Ipad pro 7.41 ..5A./46 2021
  • Browsers: Firefox 101.0.1, Safari 15
  • OS Version Number: Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H1323) on 2018 Mac Mini 64gb Ram
  • Ipad Pro 5th Gen 12.9" 2tb Storage iPad OS 15.5
  • Canon 5D Mk 4 .CR2 Raw files

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Ingest on LR Classic (LRC). Apply corrections. Turn on "Enable Lens Correction" and apply it to all photos.
  2. Sync to the cloud.
  3. Share a gallery on LRC, and view the gallery on the web or on Lightroom mobile

Expected result: View Normal Aspect Ratio
Actual result: Photos have a pronounced anamorphic stretched look. Portrait-oriented photos are more obvious than landscape-oriented photos.

Solution: Make a corrective change (any except toggle Lens Correction which won't trigger a change) on Lightroom for the web or Lightroom to regenerate a gallery preview or full window gallery view.

Less than ideal workaround: For multiple stretched photos, copy limited settings  (say -1 Saturation) and past to the entire set of photos. This, of course, invalidates any correction to saturation to any photo. (Greater than -1 or less than -1).
