problems with opening

I have been using Lightroom CC on my Windows computer for years and now, suddenly, it refuses to open. I have tried uninstalling and reloading but no change. PS still opens fine. 

 

 any idea on what I can do?

Hey, @charles_3778. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out. 

 

Have you recently updated Lightroom or Windows? Try this: set Lightroom to run with administrator privileges by default.

  • Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom
  • Right-click on Lightroom.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Change Settings for all users > Check 'Run this program as an administrator'

  • Click on OK & Apply to save the changes.

Hi @Sameer, Thanks for your email. Your suggestion seems to have kicked the program and catalogs back in sync. Should I leave the Administrator option selected? -- Regards Charles Costello

Thanks for confirming this. This change is trivial and should've ironed out the minor permissions issue, so it is, in most cases, optional, and you can revert the changes. If the app continues to work, great!
