Question
Radial mask scales when moving after rotation (Lightroom Desktop 9.3)
After rotating a radial mask (~25° or more), moving the mask causes it to increase in size with each drag. Translation appears to trigger scaling, making the mask impossible to control.
Occurs on macOS using a trackpad (Lightroom Desktop 9.2 and 9.3). Works correctly in version 8.5.1 and in the web version, so this appears to be a regression introduced after 8.5.1.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open an image in Lightroom Desktop (macOS)
- Create a Radial Gradient mask
- Adjust size/position – works normally
- Rotate the mask slightly – still works
- Rotate further (~25° or more)
- Drag the mask to reposition it
Result:
- The mask increases in size while dragging (scales instead of just moving)
Expected:
- Dragging should only move (translate) the mask, regardless of rotation
