The same thing happens to me in LRC v14.0.1 on macOS (random appearance of pink or red toolbar, and when it is red, then the tools on the left side are not visible at all). I got a response from Adobe support that it is a problem (incompatibility) of the computer hardware and LRC. The problem of the colored toolbar disappears when GPU acceleration is turned off in the LRC preferences, but then even bigger problems with the stuttering of LRC appear. Although, according to all parameters, the computer meets and far exceeds the minimum characteristics for LRC. The previous version I used (v13.0.2) worked flawlessly with the same catalog. I got the impression from multiple contacts with Adobe support that they are not interested in trying to solve the problem in a future version - those of us who have this problem, according to them, should contact Apple. My computer is an iMac 27" 5K 2021, Intel i5 CPU, 40GB RAM, 500GB SSD, 4GB GPU...

Hey @SRCE Visual Art! I'm sorry for the trouble—I know how frustrating it can be. Let's see if we can narrow down the issue with a few questions.

What troubleshooting steps have you already taken? Is this happening only with Lightroom Classic, or are other apps also giving you trouble? If it's just Lightroom Classic, does the menu bar change color as soon as you open the app, or only when using certain features like Camera Raw or exporting images?

Also, which version of macOS are you using? I've noticed this issue has been cropping up with macOS Sonoma users. If that's what you're using, you might want to check if there's been a recent update or consider installing the latest macOS release, Sequoia, to see if that fixes it.

Feel free to tag me with an @ when you respond. Thanks!

Hi @Aleke !

The steps I took to resolve the issues are numerous.

The main problem occurred when switching from LRC v13.0.2 to LRC 14.0.1.
Between those two versions I tried numerous v13 versions, but they all worked poorly (choppy scrolling in the timeline in the Library and Develop module, slow loading of previews...). So at some point I stopped trying newer versions and stuck with the tried and tested and very good v13.0.2.

However, relatively recently I received a pop-up notification that the synchronization function was no longer possible in version v13.0.2. Unfortunately, Adobe did not send any prior notification so that I could prepare for this situation and find a workaround. So I tried to switch to v14.0.1 which turned out to be a complete fiasco. Changing the toolbar colors is just the tip of the iceberg and is actually an almost insignificant detail in a sea of problems. The most basic tools, such as switching from photo to photo in the develop module, happen with a delay, the most basic corrections to the sliders happen with a delay, sometimes the icons of the activated tool are not displayed at all, the mask that is active and working randomly does not appear, when activating the crop tool, the previously cropped photo appears for a second or two, and only then the actual photo.... There are almost no tools in the Develop module that work smoothly and without any lag. Editing larger batches of photos has become a nightmare. The color changes on the toolbar stop by deactivating GPU acceleration in the preferences menu, but then the smoothness of the work is even worse (just when you think it can't get any worse, it can...).

Customer support also participated in all attempts to solve the problem, via chats, but also during several long sessions with remote access to the computer. But nothing yielded results.

During numerous attempts to "play" with LRC catalogs, so many unnecessary files were created that during one of the cleaning up the mess, I accidentally deleted the last backup of the v13.0.2 catalog. With that, I irrevocably lost the possibility to go back to that version and save years of work.

A few days ago I completely wiped my computer, did a fresh install of macOS (latest version available version 15.1.1) and, need I say, that didn't fix the problem either.

Allegedly, now there is a problem somewhere in the catalog, which I regularly and very frequently optimize and backup, so work in the Book module is completely impossible - every time I switch from the Book module to Develop, and then back, it leads to a complete stoppage in the Book module for several minutes due to the appearance of Information Collection.
Synchronization of a folder with approx. 1000 photos in v14.0.1 takes 12 hours and is only half way through!!! And so on and so forth.

I don't know at all which function of LRC is working properly. Only the Libray module still works well.

Everyone from customer support thinks my catalog is too big and that's the cause of the problem. However, that same catalog has always worked flawlessly with version 13.0.2.

At the moment, I have almost completely given up trying to find and fix the problem because I have already wasted an incredible amount of my time, and the problem is only getting deeper and deeper.

At the moment I have come to try out various other programs to find a good alternative to the v13.0.2.

copy and paste (don't attach) a screenshot of the red light so we can see if it's in lr or the cc desktop app or someplace else.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
