Question

Refine search by lens used

I need drastically different approaches based on the lens I used (I was switching lenses quite often during the event) and I would really like to see the option to refine my search by lens in Lightroom. I was sure I had the option before, but maybe it was during my Lightroom Classic days, so it appears to be quite the downgrade. It was not an issue before as I never cared enough to acquire too many lenses for a system, but now my GFX offers me so many options with adapters it would be a waste to ignore. I guess starting now I could capture physical color tags whenever I switch lens, but that’s gonna be some meh hack around what feels like a basic feature.

In another thread I’ve seen people use “Lens:” with the name of a lens, I tried that, like I looked at the info of one of the photos and typed the lens name to get “Lens:GF63mmF.28 R WR” and Lightroom seems to be trying its best to find all those photos, but the search results are just empty. The fact that it’s actually trying feels inspiring, I wonder if there’s just another hack to it I didn’t get yet.

Don’t type the lens name manually. When you type ‘Lens:’, Lightroom should come up with a list of all lenses used (in the currently selected album), so give it time to get that list. Then clicking the lens you want should then show all photos taken with that lens.
