Question

Repeated requests to sign in which seem to work, but don't

Unable to login to Lightroom dektop or Creative Cloud dektop for what seems like the umpteenth millionth time. Repeated cycle of asking for login credentials which appear to work but don't actually sign me in. And maybe two hours from now it will work just fine. This has been an ongoing issue since purchasing the plan 8 months ago. I've deleted tokens from Credential Manager - no change.  Can not uninstall the app because - it requires mt to sign in.  Can't contact customer service because it requires me to sign in.  And even then you don't actually get to speak to someone - it's chat only and very delayed at that.  Sigh. Lightroom v 8.4, Windows 11.

Hey, @j_3015. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Is this a personal machine, or does a centralized IT team manage it? Do you have a VPN, Browser Plugin, or Antivirus that can control the temporary files or how your computer connects to the Internet? If yes, try to disable any such programs and plugins.

Try these steps  & report back with what you find:

1- In the Creative Cloud app, press CTRL + ALT + T (Win) to launch Creative Cloud Troubleshooter & select 'Close Creative Cloud and related processes' > click on Go.

2- Windows - Press Windows + R to open the Run Window. Type in %temp% and delete files or folders with 'NGL' in their names.

3- Restart the computer. Sign in to Creative Cloud again & check if the issue exists.

Let us know if the error persists. Thanks!

@Sameer K  So the problem with trying this fix is the first step requires me to LOGIN to Creative Cloud which is what I have been unable to do. You can't even uninstall software unless you log in - or even get customer service - it's maddening. EVERYTHING requires a log in. So finally ** TEN DAYS LATER ** Adobe finally signed me in and I was able to go through the steps you outlined. I am stil able to sign in at the moment - who knows how long it will last.

I am using CC and Lightroom on my personal laptop (Win 11, lots of memory, under 1 yo). I never had these issues when using CC through my work account. But this has been a nightmare since getting it personally. I have probably had at least 25% down time that I am aware of.
