Recently restored deleted photos from deleted folder in LR, but they repopulated by date instead of to the original folders. Many photos were put in random folders. Anyone know how to get them back to the original folders?
Hi @Lena R, to restore your deleted photos and ensure they are placed back in their original folders, please follow the steps outlined in this https://adobe.ly/4cEdJXk.
Here’s a brief overview of the process:
Access Deleted Photos:
Open Lightroom on your desktop, mobile, or web.
Click the My Photos icon and navigate to the Deleted album to view your deleted photos.
Restore Photos:
Select the photos you want to restore and click the Restore icon. In Lightroom desktop, you can also Control-click (macOS)/right-click (Windows) and select Restore Photo.
Your selected photos will be restored in All Photos and any albums they were previously in. Note that all associated metadata will be restored except the stack information.
If your photos are repopulated by date instead of their original folders, you might need to move them back to their original locations manually. Here’s how you can do that:
Check the Recycle Bin/Trash: Look in the Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (Mac) and restore the images to their original folders before reimporting them into Lightroom.
Reimport to Original Folders: Ensure that your Lightroom settings are configured to maintain the original folder structure when importing photos. This can help prevent photos from being placed in random folders.
