Just installed latest (as of today) verison of Lightroom CC on my Macbook Pro M4. I already have it running fine on my Macbook M1 Pro. Both using Mac OS 15.4

if im editing an image, then hit G to go back to the libary view, i end up with a panel to the right titled Grid view, and tells me edit tool arent avaible. if i hit I i can get the Info panel, and thne pressing G slides it out of the way when going back to Libary. If i then edit an imabge and press G im back to the Grid message panel.

On my M1 mac this doesnt happen.

I have trashed the prefernces and unintalled and reintalled twice.

Ok, so the correct answer is to have Panel tracks set to Automatic. This closes the panels as i move between windows.

Not sure why i didnt see that setting before.

My experience is that the (Switch to Detail) is shown in a right-side panel the Editing icon is still active (highlighted).

Cick on the 'three-sliders' develop icon (once or twice) to de-activate editing and the panel should disappear for grid view.

Thanks. Yes, i i can get rid of it by clicking on that, but i never used to need to do that.

When i first posted, on my M1 the libary window would slide that panel out of the way automatically.

If im editing, pressing G would slide that panel away and the grid view would more or less fill the screen. Now i have to click it away afterwards. Just wondering why now.

Ok, so clicking E and the G gets me back to the grid view without the right hand empty panel.
i guess that's a work around but it seems a bit odd that ive not had to do this on all my years of using LR.

Just a quick update. I said it was different on my old M1. I have just reinstalled LR on my old M1 and its now the same.

Is this a new feature?
