Running LR on a SSD (using a MacBook Pro)

Hello,  I have a MacBookPro 10.15.7 from mid 2015. I am getting ready to buy the LR Photography Plan but I am afraid that my Mac won't be able to support it so I  purchased a 2TB SSD. My understanding is that in addition to storage the SSD is good for running systems. Can I run LR from the SSD and if so how do I do that? As much detail as possible is welcome.
