Seach results when file title contains [.] peridod

Hello,

How are periods handled in file titles regarding search?

I have meta data in my file titles each of which separated by a period. For example

01012021.np.40.018024.bio.rth.01.22.jpg

It seems when I search for 'rth.o1.22' I get a LOT of partial matches other than the one file which contains 'rth.01.22'.
