Question

searching for a file by name - doesn't work in LR?

There must be a way to search by file name in the top search bar or somewhere else? Search by file name works fine in LRC but how do I do it is LR? When I enter a file name in the search in LR I get tons of photos, none of which contain the file name I searched for.

Someone with more knowledge will need to answer this, but-

I have varied results searching for file names-

    a) If I type in a simple file number search I can get close to a good result- (eg. two photos for "7107")

    b) If I type in a full filename (with dashes  "20201115-rhc-D750-7107") I get a page of photos, all it seems from the same date- (with the filename ending -7107 highlighted)

So also looking for an answer.

    Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Thanks for the response. Adobe support found the issue. My file names start with an underscore (_)

This creates a problem searching - it's a known issue for adobe. After talking to Canon, my R5 was set to Adobe RGB, not sRGB, which inserted the underscore in the file name.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
