Shortcuts won't work on Mac (the esc and left/right arrows)

Question

For some reason lately, every other time exiting a photo with the esc key on my Mac just doesn’t work and beeps at me; same with moving over to a different photo with the arrows beep at me. But the other shortcuts work perfectly fine.

The only way to fix this is when I restart the app—but that’s no fun every time.

Hey, @Coreyinthehou32242496qb35. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Lightroom from Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

You can try resetting Lightroom as a primary step in troubleshooting this:

1 - While holding down the OPT+SHIFT keys, launch Lightroom from the Creative Cloud desktop app.

2 - Select 'Yes' when prompted to reset Preferences.
