Since update: Noise reduction & copy blocking workflow + crashes

Since the last update, Lightroom (cloud version, macOS Sequoia 15.6.1, 16 GB RAM) has become virtually unusable. Noise reduction immediately causes pop-ups that block the entire workflow. Especially with images that have already been noise-reduced, it takes up to a minute for changes to take effect, and Lightroom is completely locked during this time. Copying and pasting edits also causes pop-ups to block the process, instead of running in the background with a progress bar as before. In addition, Lightroom regularly freezes and cannot be opened until the process is terminated manually. This results in massive time losses and severely restricts professional use.

I request a quick fix so that denoising and editing copies are performed in the background as before, do not cause blockages, and system crashes are reduced or avoided.

Hi @mimiredhead.visuals,

Apologies for the delayed response, and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Could you please confirm if you’re still experiencing this issue? If yes, it would help us greatly if you could share the following so we can investigate further with the product team:

  • A screenshot or short screen recording showing the pop-up or delay you’re encountering when applying noise reduction or copying edits.

  • Your system information from Lightroom (Help > System Info) was copied and pasted here.

  • A note confirming whether this issue occurs with every image or primarily with those that already have denoise applied.

Once we have these details, we’ll be able to review this behavior more precisely.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini
