Sliders not working - LR Mobile on Android

I'm running LR Mobile on a Lenovo Idea Tab Pro under Android 15 and I can't drag the sliders with either the pen or my finger. I can tap on the bar just to the right or left of the button, and it will move, but that's a real PITA! A Google search leads me to believe this same issue has been around since 2020! Surely, it should have been fixed by now, right? Anybody on Android have any ideas I might try to get this working?

Thanks!

Hi @Alan9940! Sorry to hear you're running into issues with the sliders in Lightroom Mobile.

This might sound a bit basic, but just to rule out the simple stuff, have you tried restarting your tablet to see if the issue still happens? It can also help to uninstall and reinstall the app, but please make sure all your work is fully synced to the cloud first so you don’t lose any edits.

Thanks again for reaching out!

@Aleke

Yep, I had already tried the reset and uninstall/reinstall thing earlier, but no change. However, I was just playing around with it a few minutes ago and discovered that if I first tap on the button, then grab it the slider will move...most of the time. Doesn't seem to always work, but if I keep messing around with it I can usually get the slider to move. This is all way more glitchy than I think it should be but, at least, I can get some work done.

Out of curiousity, why do these controls work so differently on Android vs iPadOS? On the iPad, I can grab the button and slide whatever direction with the preview updating, as appropriate. On Android, when I'm able to get it to work, all the other slider controls in that panel disappear with only the single slider bar that I'm manipulating visible. And, a small popup shows up at the top of the screen revealing numeric values based on slider position. On Android, this seems like a LOT of screen redraws, etc, for no real reason. I'd much prefer that the Android implementation work like iPadOS.

Unrelated question: Can the editing controls be placed on the left? Adobe is aware that there are a few of we left-handers in the world?

Thanks for your time and attention.

Hi @Alan9940, The Android UI handles sliders differently, and while some of this is due to platform-specific design, the inconsistency and glitchiness you're experiencing aren't expected. Updating to the latest version of Lightroom Mobile may help. I recommend you submit feedback through in-app support or the Adobe Feedback Forum to help the team prioritize improvements to the app.

As for your question about left-handed controls, you have a great point. Currently, the option to reposition editing controls for left-handed use is available on iPad but not on Android. This has been requested by other users as well, and I'd encourage you to upvote the feature request here: https://adobe.ly/4kRD8z6. ^CH
