Question

Slow downloads when I want to stop using Lr

I want to quit lightroom and download all photos from the Lr cloud. This has an -amazing- speed of 4GB per day! Which means 200 days of downloading before I have all my photos on my laptop. Uploading goes at a great speed. Downloading a single file, even large ones, is working fine as well, but this special function to download all files (via https://lightroom.adobe.com/lightroom-library-download) is obvious slow on purpose. Yes there is a mirror function, but this is a single file on my laptop. I want to use a script to compare it to my main storage to see if I miss any photo. I can’t use the library for this.

Is there any other faster way or is Adobe really doing its utmost best to keep you a client by making it hard to exit?

Hi @matie333, thanks for reaching out! We’re sorry that the download is taking a while.

One way is to go to Lightroom.adobe.com, select All Photos from the left and use Ctrl/Command + A to select all the images. You should see a contextual bar at the bottom which has a download button.

Note: This would only download 1000 image from the beginning. I you have a lot of images on the cloud, this would not be the ideal way for you.

As an alternate, you can try to Export all the images using Lightroom web or the desktop app using the Original + Settings option.

Let us know if this is helpful!

    Thanks,
