Smart Previews show same (wrong) image on multiple images

Hello I have a very weird and very annoying bug on my Lr ipad.

 

It seems that the smart perview for many images has been replaced by the same single image. I can't figure out the logic behind why and can only assume that the smart preview catalog is corrupted.

 

Has anyone else had this? I've searched here but found nothing specifically the same as my problem.

 

Various unconnected images basically display with the same image from a completely different folder, album etc. I've located the image that they are copying the smart preview from and deleted it from the app, but they are STILL displaying.

If you go to https://lightroom.adobe.com and look at these same albums do they show the same incorrect image, the correct image, or something else?

Hi @Rikk Flohr: Photography thank you for getting back to me. It took a while to load that link but I can confirm that the albums here show the same incorrect image. 

 

I've also noted that there Sync issues with about 2000 images. I have now opened the previous library catalog I was using on LR on my mac and am syncing - although it seems to be stuck.

 

Do you think this could be the same issue and root cause?

Reposting as the forum cut off the top of my answer.

The unfinished sync is likely the culprit here. I would recommend you allow it to finish and then review the files again. If it will not resolve overnight, I would recommend contacting support for troubleshooting. 

Contact Adobe Customer Care at https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/what-contact-options.html. Scroll to the bottom and click on the “Start Now” live chat link in the lower right of this page. Typing “Agent” into the chat text field will bypass the initial chatbot.
