Sort Images by Capture Time

As a photographer who often captures events using multiple cameras, I frequently encounter the need to keep images in a sequence that reflects the chronological order of the event. While the info tab in Lightroom (Cloud-based) displays the capture time of images, the ability to sort images based on capture time is currently missing in this version.

Request:
Adding a feature to sort images by capture time in Adobe Lightroom (Cloud-based) would be immensely beneficial for users like me who require a seamless and organized method of keeping images in the correct sequence of events as they happened in time. This feature, already present in Lightroom Classic, would enhance the workflow efficiency and help maintain the continuity and narrative flow of the images.

By incorporating the option to sort images by capture time in the cloud-based version of Lightroom, photographers would have the flexibility and convenience to manage and edit their collections more effectively, especially when working with images from multiple cameras. This feature aligns with the needs of event photographers, making it easier to curate, select, and present images in a coherent and chronological manner.

I believe that implementing this enhancement in Adobe Lightroom (Cloud-based) would elevate the user experience, providing a valuable tool for photographers who prioritize organization and storytelling in their work.

Thank you for considering this feature request.

I think you are hung up on the name. Have you tried to sort using this option? Have you found it fails on time?

The Lightroom Desktop app has had the ability to sort by Capture Time since the day it was first released. Click on the icon at the bottom of the Grid that I have indicated in the attached screenshot:

OK thank you, I am thinking that mabe sorting by date in the desktop vertion sorts by capture date and time, I may have gotten confussed as the classic version has an option to sort by time. Maybe it is just named differently in the cloud-based version.

Thanks for your help

That doesn't work my photos are still in order by memory card in order they were taken.  I need them to be in time order when they were taken.  I had an online help and they weren't able to do it they said it isn't available in Lightroom CC

Unless I am mistaken about what you are asking for, this feature already exists.

Thanks for the reply Rikk, but what I am looking for is to sort the images by capture time, not the capture date. I shoot events with multiple cameras and when i import the images from my cards and sort by date the images from both cameras are sorted by date and file name with does not keep the images in chronilogical order as it happend on the day of the event. sorting by capture time exists in Lightroom Classic but does not appear to be available in the Lightroom Cloud-based version.
