Question

Split profiles and privacy

Surprised by the change Adobe has made which essentially separated enterprise license away from the personal account (i.e. email address) i used to register with my uni.

I was not able to get any tech support because it says this account does not give me access to the admin console and neither can I get help on socials.

I am just curious as to how this affects the privacy of my content on apps like Adobe reader and images on Lightroom. Does the institution now have access to the content I process through the enterprise profile? And because I had my photos on Lightroom, the sudden transition are now kept in the personal profile and it seems like the features under the institution's license can no longer be accessible unless the image I want to edit is uploaded to the enterprise profile. Anyone has any idea how privacy works in this new system?

Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I've reviewed your profile, and you have two profiles under your email.

Only one of the profiles associated with an enterprise has an active subscription.

While your privacy is intact, this new sign-in experience will help you manage your account if you have multiple subscriptions on the same email account. Check this to learn more: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/introducing-adobe-profiles.html

If you'd like to keep Lightroom separate from your business profiles, you can check the migration path for assets here: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/transfer-assets.html

Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

Hi Sameer,

Thanks for the response.

I searched for the online privacy policy and it seems like under an Enterprise profile, the institution providing the license does actually have access to the user's content? Can you confirm if this is the case? It is rather odd to allow the school to have access to all the personal data.

Also, I did not have an opportunity to migrate any assets and all of my items on the app was wiped clean. They were not previously synced to the cloud but I can't seem to locate it on my device. I don't understand why this has happened when, during startup (i.e. first login after the change), I was prompted with a message that said I can move my assets manually after. Is there a way for me to recover those assets?
