Stacking after denoise suddenly stopped working

Im in the folder of the selected date only, and stacking is selected in the denoise menu pop up but suddenly my images are no longer stacking. Stacking is currently grayed out all together. Ive restarted my software and my computer. ive read on other questions it just started working one day, but i need this solved asap as time is sensitive.

any help is super appreciated.

adobe Lightroom the most current. On both my mac and my desktop.
