Question

Starting settings for radial/graduated filters

I need some help.

When I place a filter when editing an image, the filter's starting settings eg exposure, Temp, Tint etc are different from the settings of the underlying photo I am editing. So I first have to adjust each filter setting to the photo's settings and then adjust further from there. Is there a way to have the starting filter settings default to the photo's settings instead of something different.

I'm not sure you understand how these filters work, or else I do not understand your question. Your filter settings should not match the underlying photo! They are meant to be added to the photo locally, and you only set what you want to add. So for example: if you want to brighten up a part of the photo half a stop, you use a filter or brush to do that and only set +0.50 Exposure in the filter, nothing else.
