Store Copy of Originals

I'm not sure if this should be reported as a tech issue or not so I chose "Discussion."

Whenever I start Lighroom I get a popup telling me that the storage device I have connected to "store a copy of all originals" is not connected when it is. I am using a SanDisk 1 TB Extreme SSD and it is connected. 

Why is this popup saying otherwise?
