Stuck on Checking Photos

I am currently trying to load a backup of my lighroom catalog and have been stuck at 0 for the past 2 hours. I replaced the catalog installed by default when lightroom was installed on my new machine with the backup and double clicked it to open lightroom. Am I doing something wrong?
