Subject: 500+ Lightroom Edits Gone – No Trial Used, No Cloud Sync, All Work Lost

Message:

Hi Adobe Team,

I'm extremely disappointed and need urgent help. I’ve been using Lightroom Mobile (free version) for a long time and made over 500+ edits — all saved and visible inside the app without any premium subscription or cloud sync.

Today, when I opened the app, everything was gone. The screen says “No photos in Lightroom yet” and now asks me to buy the product version to get back access — but I never used any free trial or cloud backup. My edits were always done and stored locally on the same phone.

I didn’t uninstall the app, clear data, or change devices. I trusted Lightroom to save my offline work — now years of effort seem lost with no warning or explanation.

Please help me:

  • Recover my offline photo edits

  • Explain how this can happen without user action

  • Restore access without forcing a paid subscription

This is a serious loss of time and creative effort. I would really appreciate a quick resolution.

Thanks,
Amaan Tofik Khadeghat

URGENT: No Response on Missing 500+ Lightroom Edits – Immediate Action Required

Dear @Sameer K@Anshul_Saini @Noel Orridge, and Adobe Support Team,

It has now been over a week since I reported the loss of my 500+ Lightroom edits, and I still have not received any resolution or concrete update. This delay is unacceptable.

To be clear:

  • My phone is online over 90% of the time.

  • The Lightroom app was never uninstalled.

  • The edits disappeared suddenly while using the app.

  • After signing out and signing in, the edits would reappear temporarily, but after closing and reopening the app, they disappeared again. This happened 4–5 times before the edits were no longer visible at all.

  • There are no errors when attempting to sign in.

  • I did not use any free trial or cloud sync features, and I am now being asked to purchase Lightroom to access my work.

I have already explained that these edits are likely linked to my Facebook-connected account, but logging in through Facebook is not working despite repeated attempts.

I expect an immediate update on:

  1. Why am I being forced to purchase Lightroom despite never using the trial/cloud features?

  2. How Adobe will restore my missing edits.

  3. Why the Facebook login issue is still unresolved.

I have invested a significant amount of time and effort into these edits. The current lack of action from Adobe is causing serious disruption to my work and is extremely disappointing.

Please treat this as a priority and respond within 48 hours with a clear resolution plan.

Regards,
Amaan Khadeghat

Hey, @The Khadeghat. Thanks for sharing the details and the video. While it does not show the Facebook sign-in workflow, it also does not show how you're unable to get past the subscription screen.

We'll need the diagnostic log to review this further. Please follow these steps:

1—In Lightroom, click the Menu button (3 horizontal lines) in the top left.

2—Tap and hold the grey LR icon next to your name to reveal the Send Feedback option.

3—Click on the 'Send Feedback' & wait for the diagnostic logs to finish compiling.

4—Once the logs are generated, email them to 'Lrm-android-diagnostics@adobe.com' and sameerk@adobe.com to include me in the recipients.

We await the diagnostic logs.

Thanks!

Hey @Sameer K,

I tried logging in with Google first and then with Facebook as well. The next step you mentioned is already done, and I’ve sent the diagnostic logs as instructed.

Thanks,
Amaan K

Hi @The Khadeghat, Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the community! I understand how frustrating it can be to have all your edits disappear overnight. This can happen for various reasons, such as,

  • Low Storage Space: If your phone's storage becomes critically low, the operating system or the app might try to clear cache or data to free up space.
  • Storage Permissions: If your phone's storage permissions for Lightroom were changed (manually or by system updates), the app might be unable to access its local files.
  • Corrupted Local Database: Lightroom stores edits in a local database. If that database becomes corrupted, the app may behave as if no photos exist.

Please tell us the version of Lightroom you're using. Also, please share a screenshot showing the application prompting you, "No photos in Lightroom yet," and suggesting you buy the product.

Please take a look at these steps below, and see if they help.

Check your Device Storage: If you're using an Android, please use a file manager app to look for Lightroom's local storage folder (usually under Android/data/com.adobe. mobile/files/).
If you see image files or .lrprev files, your data might still be there.

Clear Lightroom Cache:

If you haven't already, try force-stopping the app and clearing cache only (not data). Then, reopen Lightroom and see if it reindexes your local library.

Let us know how it goes!

Cheers!

Hi Noel,

Thanks for your detailed response.

I’ve carefully checked everything you mentioned:

  • My phone has plenty of free storage.

  • Lightroom has full storage permissions enabled.

  • I also followed your instructions and checked:
Android > data > com.adobe.lrmobile > files/ — but I couldn’t find any .lrprev Or image files, it's showing that I only view through Google's files, so I looked there and found a similar file, and I have attached the screenshot.

  • I also cleared only the cache (not data), force-stopped the app, and reopened it — but nothing reappeared.

Despite all this, Lightroom still displays “No photos in Lightroom yet” and prompts me to purchase the premium version, even though I have never used the cloud sync or premium features. All my 500+ edits were made and saved locally, and now everything is gone.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can try to recover the locally stored data. This is a significant loss of work and time.

Thanks again,
Amaan Tofik Khadeghat

Hi @The Khadeghat,

Thank you for sharing the details and checking everything. I did some digging and noticed that you have two login profiles linked to your Lightroom usage — one with Google and one with Facebook. It’s possible that you were logged out and then signed back in with the other account, which currently shows 0 edits because it’s different from the one you originally used.

Please try logging in with both your Google and Facebook profiles in Lightroom and check if your edits reappear.

From what I can see, one of your accounts has usage data:
Used/Quota: 0.350 GB / 5 GB, meaning content is associated with that profile.

Also, just to clarify, Lightroom doesn’t automatically delete your photos or edits; they remain either locally on your device or in your cloud account if synced. Any removal or missing data is typically related to device-level issues (like OS cleanup, storage management) or account changes.

Please try switching accounts and let us know what you find.

Best,

Anshul Saini
