Suddenly impossible to download any photo from Lightroom mobile on android

Until a few months back, I was able to simply select any photo from any album in the app and share-download or share-export to get it on my device, and forward it with eg whatsapp. Then, I started getting the "couldn't complete export" error on every attempt. See screenshot. I let go and assumed the bug would be fixed and the problem would go away by itself... not so... Pls help

Note

-this happens with every photo, not just a few

-clearing the cache does not help

-reinstalling the app does not help

-yes, the device has ample storage and is up to date

-I presume storage permission is ok, as there is no toggle, and no way to check whether it is switched on

Seems people have ben having this issue since at least 2018?? I already posted this a few months back, Adobe support jumped in, but then the line went dead 😞
