Suddenly see XMP files being generated for imported DNG files

I have just noticed that lightroom is now generating XMP files for imported DNG files.

Previously all edits etc were written directly into the DNG file and not stored in a sidecar file.

Is this now the standard for Adobe raw when importing DNG files or is there anyway I can get lightroom to revert to only using the DNG file to store edits etc.

The M images were taken a few weeks ago and edits have been written into the DNG.

The L images were taken today and the edits have been written into an XMP file.

M images taken on a leica M240.

L images taken on a leica M11.

This looks normal to me.

If your Leica M11 is an M11P and has Content Credentials enabled (or any of the software in your workflow does), this is to be expected.

Thank you so much.  You are indeed correct, I have enabled Content Credentials.  Just did not know that this changed the way Lightroom handled DNG files.

Again I appreciate your feedback.

Cheers
