Question

Switching from 20GB to 1GB impossible without canceling membership?

I want to upgrade my Photography membership, which always had 20GB storage, as there now seems to be  a choice for 1TB that comes with the membership. But I can't choose that anymore unless I first cancel my existing membership. After a long search on forums I did that, but now I can't buy a new subscription since my old one still has to expire.

Anyone else find this way of dealing with subscriptions less than user-friendly? Or am I doing somnething wrong?

You should be able do add 1TB to your existing Photography plan, without having to cancel it. What you probably read about is changing the Photography plan (Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, 20GB cloud space) to the Lightroom plan (Lightroom desktop with 1TB cloud space), but you do not have to (or want to) do that. Go to 'account.adobe.com' and login to your plan. Then click 'Manage plan'.

Many thanks Johan. In the end I cancelled and then resubscribed after the last four remaining days of my plan.

Still all in all it should be easier to switch, plans I think.

I think we are talking about different things here. I should be easy to add 1TB to your existing Photography plan. You can do that yourself the way I described. Switching plans (from the 20GB Photography plan to the 1TB Lightroom plan, for example) is different and requires you to contact Adobe for help.
