Question

Sync Lightroom Cloud to Lightroom Classic

I only realized lately that Lightroom Cloud and Lightroom Classic are different products. Here is the issue I am dealing with:

1. I uploaded a bunch of wedding photos (my own) in 2016 in Lightroom 3.

2. I basically stopped using the laptop I did that from and eventually got Lightroom Cloud (or whatever new fancy version of it).

3. I have been making TONS of changes to the album in Lightroom via Mobile, Tablet, etc.

4. I went to download one, and it said "some images could not be exported because we couldn't access the full size original" (Googled this and apparently it's the issue with two different products)

How do I get Lightroom Cloud to sync with Lightroom Classic? i.e. how do I not lose all the work I've done on editing and deleting photos (I whittled 1,400 photos to 500 and I am not looking forward to doing it again). Any insights would be greatly appreciated!!!

It depends what your preferred application is.

If you want to keep using the Cloud Based Lightroom then the easier option may be to

import the originals into Lightroom Desktop (Cloud).

This should then overwrite the Smart Previews (synced from LR3) in the Cloud with the full res files, but retaining the edits. Test one out.

If you have Classic installed and want to

use that, then with sync turned on, everything in the cloud (edits also) will download to the folder specified in Classic's Preferences, although I believe originally synced photos from Classic will remain in their original location, but with edits updating.
