Synced collection from LRC (LR Classic ) containing photos that are already synced (either preview synced or original uploaded to could) does not properly sync to to LR /LR Web. i.e collections show up as albums but images only sync one way

Basic Details
LRC Version 15.5
LR Version 9.5
Windows Version 10 and  11 25H2

Tested behavior : -
1.New synced collection created LRC shows up in LR,
2.Album created in LR shows up in LRC,
3.Added single image from LRC into both albums, in LR thumbnail of the corresponding album changes but shows 0 images. Doesn’t matter if image is preview synced into LR or original uploaded.
4.Adding image from LR shows up in LRC

Hi, thanks for your reply

1. Cloud icon does not show any errors , there is “!” however, also another behavior which actually predates this current sync issue is that about 20-30 images are constantly at sync even if leave it overnight it never comes down to 0. Since it did not create any practical issues I let it be

2. LR web also shows same status as LR desktop , collections show up in LR Web but images do not

3. Diagnostic report generated but size in 717 MB, only 50 MB attachments allowed here, kindly suggest alternative way to share the same

4.& 5. Rebuilding Sync date underway, 5 is pending  4th step, will update on completion

Hi @ASHUTOSH MALPANI ,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for the detailed testing. The results you shared are very helpful in narrowing down the sync issue. Based on your testing, synced collections created in Lightroom Classic appear correctly as albums in Lightroom, and albums created in Lightroom also appear correctly in Lightroom Classic.

The issue seems to occur specifically when adding images from Lightroom Classic to a synced collection. The album thumbnail updates in Lightroom, but the album continues to show 0 images. Images added from Lightroom, however, sync back to Lightroom Classic successfully.

This suggests that the issue is specifically affecting image synchronization from Lightroom Classic to Lightroom, while the collection/album structure and Lightroom-to-Lightroom Classic synchronization are working.

Please try the following steps:

  1. Check the sync status in Lightroom Classic

Click the cloud icon in Lightroom Classic and check whether any photos are shown as remaining to sync or whether any sync errors are reported.

  2. Check Lightroom on the web

Sign in to lightroom.adobe.com and open the affected album.

Check whether the images appear there or whether the album also shows 0 images. This will help us determine whether the issue is occurring during synchronization from Lightroom Classic or specifically within the Lightroom desktop application.

  3. Generate a Sync Diagnostic Report

    In Lightroom Classic:

    • Go to Edit > Preferences > Lightroom Sync.
    • Press and hold the Alt key on your keyboard.
    • While continuing to hold Alt, the Generate Diagnostic Report option should appear.
    • Select Generate Diagnostic Report and save the generated report.

The diagnostic report can help identify synchronization errors or items that may be stuck.

  4. Rebuild the Sync Data

Please note that Rebuild Sync Data is hidden by default, so holding the Alt key is important:

    • Go to Edit > Preferences > Lightroom Sync.
    • Press and hold the Alt key on your keyboard.
    • While continuing to hold Alt, the Rebuild Sync Data option should appear.
    • Click Rebuild Sync Data.
    • Allow Lightroom Classic sufficient time to complete the rebuild and synchronization process.

Important: Please generate and save the Sync Diagnostic Report before rebuilding the sync data. The rebuild can take some time, particularly if the catalog contains a large number of synced images.

  5. Refresh the Creative Cloud session

If the issue persists after rebuilding the sync data, sign out of Creative Cloud, sign back in, and then test synchronization again.

If the problem continues, please share the Sync Diagnostic Report and confirm whether the affected images appear on Lightroom Web.

It would also be helpful to know the file type of the affected images, such as RAW, JPEG, TIFF, etc

With this information, we can investigate further and determine the appropriate next steps.

Thank you again for your patience and for providing such detailed testing information.
