Question

Synching Between Desktop and Mobile

Apologies if this has been asked before. I have been creating duplicates of photos in Lightroom on my desktop, which I have then been editing. However, these do not sync to Lightroom Mobile. Any suggestions of how to overcome this issue would be welcome. Many thanks.

Just now I confirmed when I used Lightroom CC's feature 'Duplicate Photo' this did create a copy and this did sync through Lightroom's cloud storage to my LR Mobile iOS app.  Also, I believe if you are using Lightroom Classic's virtual copies feature, virtual copy images in a collection that is setup to sync should also have those copies appear in your LR Mobile app.

Are you otherwise syncing images OK?  If not, be sure that you are signed into Lightroom Mobile with the same email address/social platform you use to sign in on the desktop.

I used to duplicate photos often, to retain different sets of edits for the same image.  I don't do that anymore since Edit Versions was introduced last year.  I can keep numerous different edits for the same photo, browsing each saved set of edits and adjustments in the Versions tab in the Edit view.  For more info, see "Create, view, and export Versions" on this help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/using/edit-photos.html

Or web search "lightroom edit versions" to find illustrative articles that describe the feature and usage.
