Synchronisation Question

I have LR classic on my laptop, and Lr installed on a tablet also. I had 2 collections ticked in classic to sync onto an Android tablet so I could show the photos to a friend. I accidentally ticked another collection with 2000 photos in to sync as well. I realised and unticked it, but it seems to have synced anyway so I can see those photos via Lr on my tablet alsoo. I have now unpicked all collections but there are still 2205 files showing in Lr on my tablet. I would have thought as I unticked everything, it would remove them from the cloud. How can I remove them? I presume if I delete them on my tablet, it will delete them in classic also? What about if I disable sync first? Help please.

The only way to "unsync" an image in Lr-Classic, whilst keeping it in Lr-Classic, is to remove it from the 'All Synced Photographs' special collection (in the Catalog panel), if you do that the (selected) images that you "unsync" are then deleted from the cloud.

Another thing to be aware of is that, if the synced image is also in an existing synced collection in LrC, when you "unsync" it by removing it from the 'All Synced Photographs' special collection, by rule it cannot continue to exist within a synced collection so it would be removed from any such synced collection(s). It is never deleted from the LrC catalog however.

To preserve a Collection as a standard Collection (ie. not synced) you would need to remove sync status from the synced Collection before images are removed from the 'All Synced Photographs' special collection, or create a new Standard Collection of the images you have selected in the 'All Synced Photographs' special collection.
