Syncing - Can I delete local photos?

A (hopefully) straightforward question: I'm syncing a bunch of photos from my local drive to Lightroom cloud. Once done, if I delete the local photos, will this delete the ones in the Cloud?

Hey, @dougw15361196. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll clarify this for you.

When you use the Lightroom desktop to upload your images to the Cloud, a copy of the original is created locally within Lightroom's database, which gets uploaded to the cloud and cleared from Lightroom's local database once they're uploaded to Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/4big87J).

You can log in to Lightroom Web to confirm if the images have synced up correctly. Once you are sure, you may delete a few photos from your local (non-lightroom) copies to be sure before you take a significant step.

Head here to learn more about Sync: https://adobe.ly/4eGwNF4

You can specify keeping copies of your Lightroom images at a selected location according to Lightroom's preferences.

Thanks!
