Syncing problem

Hello, I'm trying to sync for the first time photos from lightroom classic on desktop to Lightroom (on my iPad phone) 

first of all my phone Lightroom has 0 photos in it , 

when I press the start sync on lgtroom desktop instead of syncing  the photos I want to

export into the app it import photos from my phone gallery into Lightroom classic instead . 
m to clarify ...it sync into lightroom classic photos from my phone gallery! Not even from Lightroom app...

It is a mess and doesn't make any sense , it's driving me crazy

The Basics:

  • From Lightroom Classic, only collections marked/selected for syncing are synced to the cloud. There are SmartPreviews synced to the cloud, not the full resolution raw's/jpg's.
  • Pictures imported on the mobile device are synced back to Lightroom Classic in its original format. You can select in Lightroom Classic preferences where they will be stored and how they will be organized (i.e. dated folders)

 

Lightroom Classic is NOT cloud based. Storage is locally. Cloud is only used for selective work or sharing.
