Question

The denoise feature in Lightroom does not work

When attempting to use the Denoise feature in Lightroom, I will check the box to turn the feature on. The progress bar will show up with the percentage and it will either fully complete or abort before 100%. Once the progress bar disappears, there is no change to the photo and the denoise checkbox is still unmarked and the slider is still greyed out. My computer and Lightroom software are up to date and I have even tried using previous installments of Lightroom.

    Hey @iCarlee

Welcome to the community! This could be happening for several reasons. To better understand what might be going on, may I ask you to share a screenshot of what you see on your end?

Please also share your system info, which can be found by going to Help > System Info. Copy and paste that into a text file and attach it to your response. This will give us information about Lightroom and your OS.

Hey, @iCarlee. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I’ll help you figure this out.

For now, please follow the steps and let me know how it goes:

    1 - Close Lightroom Classic

2 - Go to the following locations and delete everything inside the ModelZoo folder.

    Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw

    Windows: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\ModelZoo

3 - You can press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe\Camera Raw

    > Enter C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw

4 - Launch Lightroom Classic and try to use the tools.

5 - If this does not work, you can uninstall Lightroom Classic from the Creative Cloud desktop app and start over from step 2, and install Lightroom Classic at step 4.

If this does not help, please share more details, such as the operating system version, screenshots, and a short video of the error/behavior.

    Thanks!

    Sameer K
