Question

This photo is missing updated settings from another client

Hello,

Today whilst going through my photos on lightroom,  I tried to look at a handful of the ones I'd previously edited however, an error was displayed on the editing panel.

"This photo is missing updated settings from another client on (date)... open lightroom on that device to have edits synced"

This is a problem because I am using the one and only device/ client, registered with the account, and these photos were edited, on this mac, just over a week ago. Something else I noticed was that around half of my custom presets were empty (the presets were in the list, but none of the saved settings were there).

Also when I would select any of the edited photos to view, the edit would disappear from it, yet it would be there if I was looking at them in grid view.

I am using a mac and the macOS is Ventura. Lightroom is also completely up to date. Which was the case when I edited the photos.

The only thing I can think of that could be the issue is that these photos (the ones I want hadn't been edited yet) and presets were previously saved on my old college account, which has since been deactivated due to me no longer being a student. So to get them on this account I managed to find the folder where lightroom had stored everything from that account, and imported them into my new lightroom account. Everything I wanted, was imported perfectly and there weren't any issues with me editing the photos and using all of the presets. Now suddenly I can't use most of my presets nor look at my edited images.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Does the message you are getting start with "Waiting for Settings"?

And you don't have LrMobile installed on any device?

And you're not syncing witrh Lightroom Classic as well?

Yeah, the message starts with waiting for settings.

I have it installed on my phone but I haven't used it in ages.

Not as far as I can tell, I don't have it installed.

It appears to have gone back to normal all of a sudden. All of my presets are there and working, as well as my edited images all working as they should. Seems to have just been an error between my mac and the adobe software.
