I am trying to transfer all my Lightroom collections from my PC to my new iMac and I have watched tutorials and it won't work. Any advice?

We probably need more than "it won't work" to go on. For a start we need to know which application you are trying to move to the new iMac: Lightroom Classic or the cloud-based Lightroom for desktop?

Lightroom for desktop is easy, all you need to do is install the Creative Cloud app on the new iMac, sign in with your Adobe ID, then install the Lightroom app. Simple as that.

Lightroom Classic is a lot more complicated, but fortunately there's a very helpful (and free) guide to help you through the transfer: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/moving-lightroom-free-ebook/

Sorry.. the issue is moving collections I am currently editing from my PC to my Mac. I have Lightroom classic set up on both. I transferred the special file from Lightroom over onto my external but I cannot seem to load any of my working collections onto my IMac. Hopefully that's enough information? I have tried so many tutorials and it just won't open.

I'm not sure if you are trying to sync catalogs between the Mac and PC or just transfer it. If you are trying to sync you need to go through the Lightroom cloud by syncing the collection. Then you would use Lightroom, not Classic on the Mac.

If you are simply trying to transfer the Classic catalog you just need to copy the entire catalog folder from the PC to the Mac. Then on the Mac double click on the catalog file to open it.
