Transfering files with different camera formats

Hi all,

My daughter shoots with Nikon, I shoot with Canon.  She took some photos and wanted me to edit them for her in LR.  She sent them to me in Dropbox and I downloaded them onto my desktop.  When I try to open them, I get an error message that says that "

Could not complete the command because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.

Does anyone know what I need to do to be able to open these or get these into LR for editing?
