Unable to add photos. Import stuck at "Checking free disk space"

I am unable to add photos from my desktop on to Lightroom . It keeps showing ' checking free space on disk' even though I have enough space available.

Sorry that you're getting an error message that says "checking free disk space" while importing in Lightroom desktop.

 

Which exact version of Lightroom are you using? Also, what is your operating system?
