Unable to delete masks

This is happening BEFORE and AFTER re-installing Win 11 and LR.

When I delete any (individually) or all  masks it goes through the process and they dissapear, but after a few seconds the the mask pallete reloads with all the masks again. Maybe conected to this is every time I make a change (light, colour, crop etc) a pop-up appears telling me I need to update the masks. Its like LR cant write the mask data to the DB or XMP?

Hey, @Etrephotography. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Does this happen after a specific series of steps? Please share the system info from Lightroom Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Where is the catalog stored? On the internal, or external drive? Try these suggestions:

1 - Move the catalog from the to a non-syncing, local folder on your Windows machine.

2 - Launch Lightroom Classic with a new catalog & go to File > Import from catalog > target your old catalog. Proceed with merging the (potentially) corrupted catalog into the newly made, internal storage-based catalog. For more help via video-based steps, check here. See https://adobe.ly/3NTC9Rv

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

I only use LR if I have to go into the archives (I use LRC for my live editing), but i discovered today if I add a linear gradient, I can then delete all the unwanted masks, so assuming this is probably a version issue (originally worked on LRC and then archived for some time before opening in LR)
